A witness for Christ in a pagan land
Gerry Nugent is a 38-year-old converted Roman Catholic living in Co. Clare on the outskirts of Limerick in the Republic of Ireland.
In the twenty years since his conversion to Christ, he has fearlessly taken the gospel into nunneries and monasteries, to sailors on foreign ships in Irish ports and to the ordinary men and women he meets every day on his travels as a courier throughout the south of Ireland. He has witnessed to the Russian ambassador in his embassy, giving him a Bible in his native tongue, and also to the British ambassador.
He is burdened for his own people and for the Republic of Ireland which he calls a "pagan land."
He was the guest preacher at a service marking Reformation Sunday in Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church on October 31st.
Here is the unique witness from a man who knows the darkness of Roman Catholic Ireland from the inside.
